When you have determined the right sizes of the spindles, you are almost ready to install these! But for this, lubrication is a must. In some cases, people end up lubricating the whole spindle. However, this won’t be necessary for you. It will only complicate your job and make it more difficult.

All you need to do in this step is to search for the lubrication points of your spindle. If you have done it before, you already know where the points are. If you have no idea about it, even then, it is easy to search for the points and lubricate them. Search the body of the spindle and check for the threads. This is where you need to apply oil.

On the other hand, don’t forget to add some oil to the shaft of the machine. While choosing the oil for the lubrication, always opt for the light oil. This will provide just the accurate amount of lubrication that is necessary here!  Once you are done adding these, you are free to go through the sleeves. If you want, you can replace them with a new one.

Step 4: Screw it down

Once you are done with the lubrication process, you have to go through the threaded end of the spindle shaft. Search for the spindle mounting hole and insert the end into the spindle mounting hole. Now you are done! All you need to do is screw the place and you are done installing the spindle sander.

After you are done with loosening the hex nut, check for the sanding sleeve. All you got to do here is slide the sleeve off. After sliding the sleeve off of the spindle, you have to install the sanding sleeve. All you need to do is reverse the previous two steps and install it the way you did before.
